We hope you'll use this section to
learn more about Dr. Crosby, our Anchorage dental office and today's dental techniques
and procedures. Please remember, too, that we're always glad to speak
with you personally to answer any questions or discuss any concerns
that you may have.
The State of Alaska requires dental
professionals to continue their education by attending 14 hours of
classes each year. Dr. Crosby frequently has over 100 hours of continuing
education in one year-and he reads every dental journal he can find.
Rarely will you find a dentist with such a passion for making sure
your treatment is the best it can be!

There are three primary options available
to whiten your teeth:
- Thin plastic trays can be custom
fitted to your teeth and you can wear these trays at home with
the specially formulated teeth whitening gel. This often takes 8-12 days.
- A one-hour laser teeth whitening procedure
is available for an in-office visit.
- A thin layer of porcelain can
be bonded to the tooth changing not only the shade of the teeth,
but also the shape of the teeth.

Dr. Crosby and his staff take many
steps to insure your comfort including aromatherapy candles, warm
neck pillows, a blanket, and noise-canceling earphones. Some patients
who like an added degree of relaxation may choose to have valium
before their appointments. They are not asleep, but it does make
the visit much more comfortable for them.

There are two good options: Invisalign
or Veneers. Invisalign can straighten your teeth over 10-14 months
with a series of clear trays that are barely visible. Veneers can
correct not only the shade of your teeth, but also can correct crooked
teeth, gaps, missing teeth, or short teeth as well. Most of the time,
treatment can be completed in as little as 2-3 weeks.

Although each of our smiles is unique
and must be treated that way, there are many underlying principles
that can make a smile great. For example, a person that thinks their
front teeth are too big may not be seeing that their teeth are simply
too short for their width. By lengthening the tooth to achieve an
ideal length to width ratio of 75-80% the person then can have a
great smile.
Another example is that some smiles
only really show the front 4-6 teeth. By placing veneers on some
of the side and/or back teeth we can widen the patient's arch form
to give a wider and fuller smile.
Lastly, we may get
people into our office who have short front teeth. This is often
caused by the amount of gingival tissue (gums) on the front teeth.
By simply removing the tissue with a laser and giving a more symmetrical
appearance, we can lengthen the teeth.
